Round porcelain catchall tray, hand-decorated with Lina Cavalieri’s face in black and white, crossed by slender vertical gold bands.

The portrait appears and disappears between the stripes, in an optical play that fragments the features and transforms the face into a hypnotic graphic composition. A variation from the celebrated Tema e Variazioni series, conceived in 1952.

Made in the Fornasetti Atelier in Milan. Minor variations between similar pieces attest to the uniqueness of each creation.
