Round porcelain catchall tray, hand-decorated with Lina Cavalieri’s facial features in black and white: closed eyes, nose and lips emerge in isolation against a white background.

A portrait reduced to its essentials, where the absence of outlines and the fragmentation of the features create an uncanny effect. A variation from the celebrated Tema e Variazioni series, conceived in 1952, to collect or give as a gift.

Made in the Fornasetti Atelier in Milan. Minor variations between similar pieces attest to the uniqueness of each creation.
