AT THE FORNASETTI STORE, MILAN
L’HEURE DU CHAT
For Fornasetti, the cat is the guardian of arcane knowledge: a silent and cultivated presence, a symbol of freedom, appearing in drawings sometimes mysterious, sometimes docile, shaping an imagination filled with enigmas and metamorphoses.
In 1970, Piero Fornasetti dedicated an exhibition to it at the Galleria dei Bibliofili, a cultural meeting place he founded, reflecting his eclectic spirit, capable of transforming even everyday themes into imaginative worlds. That same vision resonates today in Barnaba Fornasetti’s work, who, with L’heure du chat, transforms the Milan store into an immersive journey between design and art, open from 14 November to 31 December 2025.

The works of surrealists Leonor Fini and Stanislao Lepri engage in dialogue with the Fornasetti settings in the exhibition project developed in collaboration with Tommaso Calabro.
Their visions populate the space with feline metamorphoses, blending sensuality, mystery, and transfigured symbols.
“What is a cat,
truly? An ancient
philosopher,
cloaked in soft fur.”
Piero Fornasetti
A table suspended between imagination and reality hosts the new festive collection, transforming it into an original visual play.
Cats with floral, spotted, and checkered coats chase one another, creating an enigmatic and surprising decorative rhythm.
