Fornasetti's visions travel along unexpected routes, aboard aircraft that float lightly in the skies of the imagination. Ever since Piero chose hot-air balloons and flying machines to decorate his childhood bedroom they have coloured his creative universe. His intuition took shape later in the extraordinary fabrics designed together with Gio Ponti for a Milanese house. Nowadays Fornasetti’s balloons hover on pieces of art whose rigorous shapes marry a whimsical spirit.
