IMAGINATION
House of Imagination is Fornasetti’s vision for home interiors. It encompasses all Fornasetti’s homes: those designed in the past that no longer exist, those that lived only in the imagination and are just sketches on paper, and those that are yet to come to life, following the principle that inspiration transcends eras and dates.
With a redesigned installation for Milan Design Week 2025, the Milan store echoes the intimate, surreal atmosphere of Fornasetti’s historic family residence, and the interiors designed in the 1950s and 1960s, in a game of echoes and references.
The most recent collections interact with iconic creations and vintage pieces, while archival influences coexist with functional elements that give each room its own distinctive feel: the living room, the dining room, the hall, the study.

The Fornasetti home is the result of the layering of ideas, drawings, visual inspiration, the old and the contemporary, the artistic and the artisan, everyday objects and exquisite collections.
CASA DI FANTASIA
In the private residence Casa di Fantasia (House of Fantasy) designed by Gio Ponti and Piero Fornasetti in 1952, the space is turned into a theatrical stage. The decorated surfaces lead into a magical, unreal dimension thanks to continuous optical illusions.
In Fornasetti’s domestic magic, reality and imagination merge in the trompe-l’oeil of architectural designs, in the scenic backdrops created by folding screens, in furniture that reveals unexpected scenes behind its doors.
GRAND HOTEL DUOMO
The Grand Hotel Duomo, designed in 1950 by architects Melchiorre Bega and Aldo Avati, is among Fornasetti's most eclectic interiors. An experimental encyclopaedia of techniques and designs, some of which later became iconic: butterflies and fake frames on silk walls, female heads surrounded by flowers, dancing muses, and fantastical animals.
