Fornasetti was fascinated by the study of planetariums, almanacs and celestial maps from his earliest days, and drew creative inspiration from them.
In 1951, this fascination took shape in a large-scale project commissioned by Gio Ponti, where Fornasetti’s cosmic inventions came to life in the Zodiac Suite of the Andrea Doria ocean liner.
