Each piece of furniture and each precious porcelain are produced in yearly limited editions. On all samples there is a code indicating in order: the progressive number of the object, the annual limit production and the year of execution.
The home ware is numbered progressively, dated and, in case of colour, signed by the painter who carried out the hand colouring.
Considering the vast range of subjects and re-editions of the ‘50s and ‘60s, each year the production of certain articles is suspended and new ones take their place.
This characteristic of the production contributes to heighten the value of Fornasetti, favouring collecting.
Today everything is still rigorously executed by hand in the atelier; the colour is still given by a painter who copies the original hand painted paper models. Only the printing technique has changed for necessity and converted form lithography to serigraphy. Through particular procedures the decoration is transferred onto specially prepared lacquered surfaces and, thereafter, two other layers of transparent lacquer are applied. Eventually, thanks to a high polishing, a perfect unified surface has been created.
